Why use Pavatex Diffutherm Wood Fibre Insulation?
Wood Fibre Insulation is a tried and tested insulation material within the UK. It is a highly breathable insulating material, providing an outstanding level of thermal comfort within the home and is therefore perfect for use within an EWI system. Not only does the Pavatex Diffutherm insulation offer superlative insulating properties, it also has the credential of being an environmentally friendly material.
Pollution levels associated with Wood Fibre Insulation are renowned for being extremely low. This is because of the fact that during the course of its lifetime a tree will sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. Wood Fibre Insulation is an entirely renewable material, and when used as part of an external wall insulation system, will effectively reduce the carbon footprint of the property owner with its renewable status and through reducing energy consumption
Due to its unparalleled breathability, Wood Fibre Insulation is perfect when used for a timber framed property because it is a vapour-open building material. It’s essential for a building to be able to breathe in order to prevent damp and maintain structural integrity. The Wood Fibre Insulation will regulate the passage of water through the building structure, allowing for the diffusion of moisture and preventing any detrimental moisture build-up within the property and the EWI system. When used in conjunction with our highly breathable silicone render, the Wood Fibre Insulation system offers unbeatable performance.
Pallets of Diffutherm Wood Fibre Insulation are available for purchase in a range of different thicknesses: 60 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm and 120 mm.

Applying Wood Fibre Insulation within an EWI system:
Pavatex Diffutherm Wood Fibre insulation boards should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions – this includes their guidelines on design and other aspects of application. We recommend the boards are fixed to the substrate with mortar/adhesive and mechanical fixings to ensure maximum adhesion.
We advise that you use the EWI-225 Premium MW Adhesive for the application of Wood Fibre Insulation due to its greater weight. Apply a light, watery coat of the adhesive to your prepared surface initially. When it is dry apply the basecoat, then embed in the fibreglass mesh for added tensile strength.
Ensure that the Diffutherm Wood Fibre Insulation boards are stored in a dry place and protected from damage. Only install the Diffutherm insulation boards when dry, and stack no more than 4 pallets on top of each other.
Diffutherm Wood Fibre Insulation can be left exposed for up to 60 days. Only install render when it is in a dry state.
